Hometown memories

Isn't it funny how quickly you can pick up old habits when you go back home, such as working out and not eating McDonalds? Yesterday, I jogged four miles, to see if I could do it at this point. Turns out, it wasn't that bad, but I still got a ways to go.

Anyway, along the run, I passed my church and a business called 'MC^2'. MC^2 creates picture boards or something. My junior prom date's dad worked there and I didn't like her.

Anyway, where my family used to sit at church, I had a great view of the surrounding area, including MC^2. My mind would generally wander during mass as my priest was talking about his dog or a fat guy in front of me was preventing me from ogling the hotties in attendance.

Eventually, my mind would wander back to this MC^2 sign and I would often wonder what the hell that name meant. Did they mean that the mass (as in, their product) moved out of there at the speed of light... Or that MC^2 equaled energy and that they had plenty of that... Whatever it was, it perplexed me. It wasn't until I eventually got a nudge from my dad to pay attention in church that I realized the true irony of that sign: Mass moved at anything but the speed of light.

'Now in that last story, my dog symbolized Jesus'...

P.S. For anyone who's interested, the top story in the local paper the day I got back was about a deer crashing into a hair salon and getting choked out by a customer. I won't comment on the pictures related to this article.
